I got totally inspired by the enthousiasm on the website forum.arctic-sea-ice.net
I’d like to contribute with a daily update of the movie I make from the pictures posted at ftp://ftp-projects.zmaw.de/seaice/AMSR2/3.125km/ (starting on march 21st, the start of the meltseason)

Process
– download latest .png
– convert to .jpg
– resize to 1920×1080
– open Virtualdub, add all resized frames (I allways have to add frame 1 again, or it wll only show 10 frames
– set framerate to 15
– save avi
– upload to youtube
– paste fresh link here.
(frames March 21st till july 1st were “cleaned” by me, the newer frames are uploaded automatically with a mask cleaning all grey triangles and “clouds appearing as ice” in the oceans)
